You are probably receiving push notifications everyday and didn’t even realise that there was a name for them. Some great examples of web push notifications are:

- CRM Software Notifications – New Website for Acme Co is due to be completed today
- Surf Watch – The surf at Sandy Bay is going off today. High tide at 3:15pm
Most of the businesses sending push notifications are news sites, social websites, online games and apps. You chose to be notified because you use their product and are interested in keeping up to date. Now you can offer push notifications on your website. People see a message asking if they would like to receive notifications when they visit your website on their desktop or mobile phone.
