If you have an online shop, you know that you need to be actively marketing your shop via customer email newsletters and social media to drive customers to your website.
However, if the majority of your customers are starting with a google search, wouldn’t it be better if they saw your products right away at the top of the search results.
Google Shopping does exactly that. Google knows (or at least guesses) when you are doing a google search for something to buy. They then display a row of product photos matching your search, each with a product name and price.
Even if a link to your website appears further down the page of search results, Google Shopping puts a visual of your products right in front of potential customers in a way they can’t ignore.
How Google Shopping Works
Most websites with an online shop can create google shopping ads.
We link your online shop to a Google Merchant Center account so that they have a record of your products and product data. This syncs regularly so that changes you make to your shop such as pricing or stock adjustments are automatically adjusted on your google merchant centre account.
The next step is to setup and link to a Google Adwords account where we create a Shopping Campaign using all your online shop product data. We can set your daily ad budget to whatever amount you like and once all the google shopping criteria are met, your ads will be up and running.
Google Shopping in New Zealand
Google Shopping has only been available in New Zealand since February this year. Not many New Zealand companies are taking advantage of Google Shopping ads at the present time so it’s a great time to get onboard. Promote your products over your direct competitors and put your products alongside the big stores too.
