Use our email newsletter checklist to make sure you don’t send an email newsletter with an old subject line, wrong address or links to the wrong place ever again.
Check who you are sending your newsletter to.
Check that you are sending to the right mailing list. You can send to the entire list or just a segment. For example. Only subscribers from Whangarei or only subscribers who like your chocolate ice-cream. Creating a slightly different version of your newsletter for different segments is a good way to increase customer engagement.
Make sure your subject line is compelling.
Be sure to add your company name and email address in the setup section. Update your campaign title for Google Analytics so you can track website visitors later on. You can tick to send your newsletter direct to your Facebook page or Twitter page. This increases awareness of your newsletters and also targets a larger market.
Lots to check in the design section,
Don’t be afraid to be creative to catch your audiences attention. Check that all your images are linked to somewhere and that the links are all working. Update your pre-header teaser line of text. This is at the top of the newsletter and is the first thing that your consumer will see. This is an opportunity to make them want to find out more, influencing them to open the email and make a purchase.
Preview the design in both desktop and mobile view to ensure that the design is compatible for both devices. Once everything is looking great and the addresses and numbers are correct, send a test email to yourself just to double check everything is OK.
In the final stage,
Check that you have updated your Social Card with new information and a relevant image. Schedule the date and time you want the email newsletter to be sent or save as a draft to your dashboard.
